About Kadapa:kadapa (commonly Known as Cuddapah) is a city in the Rayalseema area of
the south-middle part of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is placed 8 kilometres south
of the Penna River. The city is near on three sides by the Nallamala and
Palakonda hills lying on the tectonic landscape being sandwiched between the
Eastern and Western ghats. The city is nicknamed "Gadapa" since it is the entry from the west to the
sacred hills of Tirumala.
Kadapa, the well-known
city of Andhra Pradesh, has more of attractive places to visit. It has ancient
temples, the natural beauty, archeological and museums this historically city
comprises many attractions that can mesmerize any looking with their charm. On
your tour to Cuddapah, you can glance the miscellanies culture of the city
along with its energetic people. It is the gateway and opportune comport place
for the pilgrims who were on the way to Hindu holy shrine Tirupati. Kadapa has
been under the rule of various kingdoms, including the Cholas, the Vijayanagara
Empire. It is also well known for its spicy and culinary food.
Yogivemana University: Kumaragiri Vema generally known as
Vemana. He was a significant Telugu philosopher and poet. His poems were mainly
written in Telugu, and are known for
their use of simple language and native idioms. His poems discuss the subjects
of Yoga, perception and ethics. He is popularly called Yogi Vemana, in
recognition of his success in the way of Yoga.
C.P. Brown Library: C.P Brown was born in Calcutta on
November 10, 1798. His father, David Brown, was an unusual man. Charles Philip
Brown's Name stand out like a beacon among European scholars who contributed to
Telugu studies. He rendered an
unbelievable service to Telugu with an amazing zeal and interest. He connected
the Fort St George College, where he studied Telugu and Marathi and approved
out in June, 1820. First he was selected
as second Assistant to the Principal Collector, Cuddapah in August, 1820.
Brown had in its payroll about 20 Pandits in transcribing
local authors, in preparing correct editions, in framing indexes and
commentaries. He was paying salaries from his private sources to them.Brown
passion for the collection of understanding was very strong. once at Machilipatnam he read about Vemana in
the book 'Hindu method Customs and worships and start collecting palm-leaf copies
of poets of Vemana. Brown's dictionary,translated Telugu-English,
English-Telugu 1200 poets and published them in 1829.
Kadapa Koti reddy: Kadapa Koti Reddy woned to landed
class and educated best. His political journey begin as freedom fighter. From
1921 to 1947 he was active in the freedom struggle and from 1947 to 1968* he
was an active member of the legislature and the state cabinet. His union with
Gandhi, Tanguturi Prakasam pantulu, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy etc, helped him in
strengthening the freedom movement in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh
consisting of Cuddapah, Kurnool, Anantapur and Chittoor districts.
