About Cathedral  Church: The Medak Church located in Medak town, Medak district of Telengana ,India. The Church is one of the biggest churches in Asia continent. The Medak diocese, under the Church of South India (CSI), is the single biggest bishopric in Asia and the next in the world after Vatican country. It was established for the duration of the food crisis in Andhra Pradesh.

For the period of World War-I, in late 1890s the district reeled under a food crisis (1819-1821) caused by insufficient rainfall for three consecutive years and the workers, who worked on the building site of the church, were mostly poor farmers and were given “Food for Work Program” as there was no work for these farmers in the surrounding areas. In the period of concept of “Food for work program”.Thus the farmers were saved from  daily pangs of food shortage, starvation and death because of the unique concept of “Food for Work” which was successfully used to build this great church. The Church has approximately built by ten years from 1914 to 1924 this massive construction.  This church was built by a missionary “English Wesleyan Methodist Mission” founded by the brain child of Charles Walker Posnett. The church construct during period of the Kakatiya dynasty.

The design to construct a church in Medak come from the English Missionary Charles Walker Posnett of the English Wesleyan Methodist organize. He built a little church devoted to Christ close to a hill, now in ruins, is still there. The present Medak Church is built in white granite stone and is a immense but exceptional building that can accommodate 5000 people at a time.The Medak Church is well-known for its great pointed stained glass windows that tell the story of the Bible in a kaleidoscope of colors though visible only in solar light. The Church has made complete of Italian tiles, the spire bell tower of Medak Church rises to 175 feet high. The length 200 feet and width 100 feet of the Cathedral correspondingly.The top of the church is sound proof being made by hollow sponge fabric and has an extraordinary style of vaulting. A window depicts the birth picture of Jesus, angels, Prophet or Isaiah, Mary and astrologers.

The left side of the church bears the painted fructification scene and in the center the ascension of Jesus is painted bright. The every one window has fixed in the different bits of stained glass precisely .The church has occupy the gigantic place provide accommodation 5000 devotees at a time in its vast facet.The Church was ground flooring six massive colors of mosaic tiles founding and this tiles were imported from England . This wonderful white granite construction not only stands for peace but a huge illustration of Gothic architecture in India and South-east Asia.The Medak Cathedral is open every day from 7 am to 6 pm for public viewing and silent prayer.

By Bus :  TSRTC run state buses connect Medak to  Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Nizamabad and Warangal.

By Air : The nearest airport is samshabad  from 100 km.
