About Ellora Caves: The Ellora Caves locally called as ‘Verul Leni’ is situated on the Aurangabad from 30 km. It was founding in the 8th century by the Rashtrakuta dynasty king Krishna I as verify in Kannada inscriptions. The Ellora Cave represents one of the largest rock-carved monastic-temple structures in the total globe. This is 34 temples and monasteries famous collectively as the Ellora Caves.

Ellora is also world eminent for the largest one colossal digging in the earth, the immense Kailasa sixteenth cave and outstanding example of Dravidian structural design on explanation of its outstanding quantity, complicated workmanship, architectural comfortable, and sculptural adornment of rock-carved design. The visit to these caves is enjoyed maximum during monsoon, when every stream is filled with rainwater, and the entire environ is lush green. The Caves make longer over more than two km, were dug alongside in the wall of a towering basalt rock face in the multipart placed at Ellora. The temple was specially made and completed between 757-783 CE. It is planned to recall Mount Kailasa, the temple of Lord Shiva.For the period between 6th to 9th built Ellora for Hindu, Buddhist and Jain cave temples and the ruling of the Kalachuri, Chalukya and Rashtrakuta dynasties. This place 34 caves are situated twelve Buddhist caves (500-750 AD), seventeen Hindu caves (600-870 AD) and five Jain caves (800-1000 AD).  The first ten caves are called as Viswakarma caves and apart from tenth cave are monasteries used for education, meditation, communal rituals, eating and sleeping. 


 Cave one is a plain vihara with eight small monastic cells are very little sculpture. It may have served as a granary for the larger halls. Cave two is very attractive huge middle hall supported by twelve big cube pillars is lined with sculptures of seated Buddhas. Caves three and four have a comparable design as Cave two. Cave five is named the Maharwada Cave because it was used by local Mahartribes people as a shelter during the monsoon.Cave sixth was carved in Mahamaya considerably; Mahamayuri has a very parallel Hindu goddess Saraswati. The wonderful Cave ten known as the Carpenter's Cave, because of its imitation in stone of wooden beams on the ceiling. At the far end, a seated Buddha is enthroned in front of a large stone sthoopa.
   Hindu Caves from 14 to 29, and are possibly the finest examples of Hindu rock cared caves in India. These caves were carved at a time when Hinduism received royal support in the area, the great epics the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. Jain Caves:The sculpture was cast in the 15th cave, 

Kailasa temple in the sixteenth world's largest monolith temple. 150 years of its constructionand it is engaged in the construction of the approximately seven thousand workers. The temple is located in an area of sixty thousand square feet. The 21 cave is  Rameshwar cave. The cave is 22 Nila kanta cave. In this cave are the parents of seven deities, the gods and the statue of the river to the 21 and 22 caves marriage of Shiva and Parvati. 25th  cave is seven horses of the sun in the cave built and as well as 29th in the cave where the sculpture will look great on the mountain lifting Ravana. There are five Jain Caves, from 30 to 34. Here the Gomateswara statue is marvelous. These are 9th to 11th   AD middle carved to the caves.these sculpture birth of the story Mahavir. Though the Jain caves are not as large as the Buddhist or Hindu caves, they are no less detailed



How To Reach Ellora Caves:
 By Road: Ellora Caves are connected to a network of excellent roadways with Aurangabad from 104 km.
 By Train: The nearest railway station is Jalgaon 59 km from Ajanta. Two trains Tapovan Express and Devgiri Express depart daily from Mumbai to Aurangabad.
By Air: Aurangabad, which is about 99 km from Ajanta and 30 km from Ellora, can be reached directly from Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Udaipur airports.
