About Sri Sailam:The Srisailam of Lord Mallikarjuna attractively situated
on top of Nallamalai Hills, Srisailam played a main role in our devout,
cultural and societal history from ancient times.This famous mountain is also
named as Siridhan, Srigiri, Sirigiri, Sriparvatha and Srinagam. The main Linga
is separated into 25 facets, out of 40 Lingas, making a total of 1,000 Lingas.
One more Linga of Mallikarjuna under a Vata vriksha (tree) is measured the
original Linga.Srisailam is located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. This
total region is full of forests region.In the past history Srisailam starting with the
Sathavahanas who were the first empire builders in South India. It can be
traced in Pulumavis Nasik inscription of 1st Century A.D. Ganapathideva has
spent 12000 Golden Nanyas for the preservation of the temple. The Sathavahanas,
the Pallavas, the Vishnukundis, the Ikshavakus, the Reedy Kings, the Chalukyas,
the Kakatiyas, the Vijayanagara Emperors and Chatrapathi Shivaji are along with
the famous emperors who worshipped God Mallikarjuna Swamy.
Sri Krishnadevaraya built Salumantapas on both sides of
the temple and the Rajagopuram on Eastern wall in 15th Century. The Golden days
of Srisailam, the Reddi Kings is that approximately
all conditions of the dynasty did celebrated work for this temple. In 14th
Century built stepped path-way to Srisailam ,Pathalaganga Prolaya Vema Reddi of
Reddy Dynasty. Prataparudra of Kakatiya Dynasty has main constructions and
developments in this temple.

Sikharam, the highest of the Srisailam hills, is Sikhareswara Swamy temple
dedicated to Lord Shiva, and also a beautiful Sri Ganapathi temple.These
temples are included Kailasadwaram,Istakameswari Temple,Nagalooty,Brahmaramba
Cheruvu,Guptha Mallikarjunam,Bheemunikolanu,Shivaji Memorial and Mallella
Theertham.
PatalaGanga:The Patala Ganga is Portico and a pond. Ahelyadevi, a
great devotee of Siva built a strong bathing here. Consisting of 852 steps on the banks of the Patalganga.
Bhramaramba Devi
Temple: The temple is one of the
eighteen Mahasakthis peetas. The unique feature of this kshetram is the
combination of Jyothirlingam and Mahasakthi. As per the mythology, Goddess
Parvati worshipped Lord Shiva in the form of a bee as Bhramara factually means
bee.
HathakeswaraTemple:The temple is a small artistic temple
located on the downhill of Srisailam .in the Kurnool district of Andhra
Pradesh. The temple has a Shiva Lingam and is considered very famous.
Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple:The temple is a well known
temple located at a height of 452 m on the southern bank of River Krishna. The
temple depicts Vijaynagar style of architecture and was built by Harihar Rajulu.
Veera Bhadra Swamy
Temple:The temple built in the one rock, main temple to just two minutes walk.
The statue is exactly 6 feet and it is in front of Vadiayar Satram. And it is
very gorgeous and Dare and the temple consists of Nalugukala Mandam(4 legs).
Akkamma Thali Temple:The temple is located in main gate of
main road. Here the goddess Ankamma
thali is a Gramma Devatha Village goddess.
Sakshi Ganapati Temple: The temple is located in a black
idol of Lord Ganesha. The temple is located among dense vegetation and
atmosphere is highly calm and cool.Sikhareswara temple is located at the
highest point in Srisailam.
Akka Mahadevi caves:For the duration of the 12th century
A.D. this cave appeared to have attained its present name after the famous
ascetic, lyricist and philosopher, Akka Mahadevi who hailed from Karnataka.
Hemareddy Mallamma TempleL:The temple is located about a
half kilometer on the western side of the Mallikarjuna Temple and was
inaugurated by Karnataka Veerashaiva Reddy Samaj on 26 May 2010
Phaladhara
Panchadhara :Phaladharapanchadara located about 4 Km from the main temple. Adisankara
perform at this place and collected the famous Sivanandalahari here. The generally
folk these streams are known as Phaladhara Panchadhara and these two indicate
their derivation from the fore head of God Siva the Phaladhara (Phala = fore
head, dhara = Stream) and denote the five aspects of Siva.
Srisailam Dam:-The Dam is one of the major attractions in
the mountainous region of Srisailam and it is
one of the twelve hydro electric projects and 3rd largest hydroelectric
project in India.. The wonderful places are includes Nallama Forests and the magnificent
flow of Krishna River.
