Tirumala: Tirumala
Temple is a famed Hindu Temple of
Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy situated in the hill town Tirumala Tirupati,
Chittor, Andhra Pradesh India. The Tirumala temple is established on the
Venkatadri hill, one of the seven hills of Tirumala, and hence is also known as
the Temple of Seven Hills (Saptagiri in Sanskrit)the holy shrine
divinity of the temple, Lord Sri Venkateswara, is also identified by additional
names - Balaji or Srinivasa.
Following to the myth, the temple has a self-manifested
(swayambhu) deity murti of Lord Vishnu, with the Lord whispered to have resided
here for the whole Kali Yuga. In Sri Vaishnava tradition and the temples is
held to have over 12th centuries of history.The temple is evaluating one of the
108 Divya Desam sites.
This wonderful
temple is situated on top of the Tirumala Hill, whereas the town of Tirupati is
located at the foot of the hill.Tirupati is a fascinating town for people, who
want to find out more about Hinduism, or those, who want to exercise their
religious beliefs.
It comprises
seven peaks, representing the seven hills of Adisesha, hence known as
Seshachalam. The seven peaks are called Seshadri, Five persons are permissible
for Shrivari Darshan. Neeladri,
Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrishabhadri, Narayanadri and Venkatadri.
The holy temple
of Sri Venkateshwara is situated on the seventh peak, Venkatadri (Venkata
Hill), and lies on the southern banks of Sri Swami Pushkarini. Lord
Venkateshwara at Tirumala is regarded as the world’s richest temple with
expected yearly profits over hundreds of crores.
The enormous dynasties of the southern cape had paid
their tribute to this ancient shrine. The Pallavas of Kancheepuram 9th Century
A.D, Cholas, Pandyas and the kings, chiefs of \/ijaayanagara (14th - 15th
Century) were enthusiastic ‘devotees of Lord \/enkateswara and they vied with
each other in endowing the temple with rich contributions and benefactions.
The Seshachalam over seven hills, they are known as
Thirumalai in Tamil language, Thiru means Holy shrine or Sacred and Malai means
Hill. The hills are revered as sacred and abode of the Lord himself. The
temples in the area, the hills and the environment around it are secured in
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

Tirumala.
By Train: The Raiway lines well connected to all major
cities in Tirupati.
By Air: The nearest airport is Renugunta from 30 km.
