About Borra
Caves. The Borra Caves discovered in 1807 by a British geologist,
William King, these usual caves were assumed formed by the pressure exerted by
the Gosthani river on the hills. Borra Caves are situated in the Araku valley
of the Ananthagiri hills in the Eastern Ghats of India.
Which is a naturally
formed cave that is believed to be more than 150 million years old. The river
now flows through entire the caves. Visakhapatnam (Vizag) is second largest
city in A. P. and mainly an industrial city, apart from being a port city.
The length of the Borra Caves in totality is about 200
meters. The Borra caves distance of 95 kms from the industrial city o
Visakhapatnam, The Borra caves are a image of mystery and beauty. Measuring up
to 100 m horizontally and 75 m vertically at the way in, these are few of the
largest and deepest caves in India. The caves stretch for about 200 m into the
hills.
The Borra Caves are located in the first four gates. It has
being used in currently gate one.The Borra caves one kilometer occupied the Gosthani
river. But, in 1990,Gosthani not allowed to go to the river. Next the state
tourism development corporation acquired the caves, Borra caves outside the
horticulture cultivation, planting plants, such as during Borra Caves and

various colors, the shadows of the falls and modern lighting. Few years ago the

The caves are derives
due to karstic limestone structures in best part that extends to a stretch of
80 m (262.5 ft) because of which it is measured the deepest cave of India.

these different shapes of stalagmite and stalactite formations like Mother
child, Human brain, Crocodile, Shiv Parvathi, Rushis Beard etc.
Although the wonderful formations found in the cave, it has
become a very major place for Hindu Religion. There are stones which are the
exact shape of 'Shivalingam' and there is an statue of the cow called as
Kamadhenu. So, the Borra Caves isn't only a tourist spot, but also a religious destination
. There are even more amazing structures inside the cave that look like
mushroom formations, temple, church and if u assume with any images. The reason
of this journey is to promote Eco & Adventure tourism in Eastern Ghats
region and love for nature.
