About Bathukamma: Bathukamma is a one of the mainly special festivals of Telangana celebrated by women for nine days for the period of Navaratri. It begins on Mahalaya Amawasya and ends on Ashwayuja Ashtami which is two days before Dasara festival. It respects goddess Gauri `life-giver’ on the name of Bathukamma and with women looking for her blessings for success and an auspicious year. Colors, flowers and water are all significant essential parts to the festival; and the goddess herself is not one fixed in a holy place but made of flowers that signify both life and eternity in their colors as well as temporary.For, the goddess is `created’ each year, and immersed Drowned on the final day of the festival in local water.



Long ago the Chola Dynasty King by name Dharmangada available to rule South India. Later than a lot of prayers and rituals, his wife gave birth to deity Lakshmi. Baby Lakshmi get through so many incidents. Thus, the couples named her Batukamma (Batuku = life, Amma= suffix to female names and mother). Ever since Batukamma event is celebrated by youthful girls and women in Telangana area. Which is a very unique festival that celebrated by Telangana people simply is called Bathukamma pandaga, it comes earlier than Dasara. The Women and young girls make part of this event Bathukamma with lot of flowers and put them around in their compounds and play the songs by rounding those Bathukamma.
  
Flowers are arranged on a cover or square made of wood board or a rectangle cane frame in a conical layout. On the top, gymnasium of a pumpkin flower or a cone made of turmeric to correspond to Batukamma is situated. This flower-patterned collection is shrine as Goddess Batukamma. This festival is mainly famous by young girls, though men and women also contribute in electing and arranging the flowers as Batukamma.During these ten days every evening, devotees residing in the area bring together at one place; generally someone's residence or close by temple or a lake or a river. In some districts, clay idol, known as Boddemma, is fixed and holy in the house or at a position in the township. Girls dance in the region of Boddemma and Bathukammalu and sing songs of Batukamma. After the play and prayer, these Batukammalu are left at the temple or immersed in the lake or river or pond. This continues for nine days with every evening final as a communal get together. On the final day, everyone in the town goes to the nearest river or lake or pond, where the most beautiful and largest floral Bathukammalu are brought and floated. The view looks charming with flowers of dissimilar colors floating on the water. Especially young girls in large persons contribute in the festival.


The flower outline is distinctive and yellow Telangana national tree (Tangedu) flowers are at the bottom. The roof that is white flowers and  Marigold acts as the cover up for the Bathukamma.Bathukamma is a heap of good-looking flowers set in seven middle layers in the shape of a cone shape. They arrange them on a broad plate in a conical mound. The folks ladies who contribute in the event dress up in their best, wearing customary Silk Sarees and jeweler and Young girls also join. They wear the customary dress of the area and dance around them while singing essence inspiring Bathukamma folk songs. Synchronizing steps and claps in union supply a good look to the festivities.
