About Golconda Fort: This Golconda Fort was established on a hill which was once the province of Kakatiya Kings of Warangal in 1143 A.D. For the period of the Kingdom of Raja Pratap Rudra Dev, a shepherd recommended to him the demand of established a fort on this hill, the Raja welcomed this idea and constructed a "Kucha" wall calling it following the name of the shepherd fort name of the shepherd "Golconda" (Golla means shepered and Konda means Hill, hence Shepherd's Hill), as the capital of the Rajas was Warangal.
